SonicbutterPDX presents the 2002 Concert for George featuring George Harrison's All Things Must Pass AND new this year, the 50th Anniversary Concert for Bangladesh

30+ musicians, forming a veritable who's who across Portland's music scene, get together to bring you two momentous concerts by and for George Harrison!

Friday 10/7 - We will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Concert for Bangladesh. Organized and presented by George in association with Ravi Shankar, the concerts were a benefit for Bangladeshi refugees displaced by the Bangladesh Liberation War.  Featuring performers Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton, and with a spectacular opening segment by Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan, the shows spawned both a hit album and memorable concert film.

Saturday 10/8 – We return with our sold out 2020 performance of the Concert for George featuring Harrison's magnum opus and arguably, the best post-Beatles release by any of the Fab Four, All Things Must Pass. Marking the one-year anniversary of George's passing, the Concert for George featured Eric Clapton as musical director and a special opening with an original Indian classical music performance by Ravi and Anoushka Shankar.

Come again or come anew as we bring you these two legendary shows in celebration of all things George!

While up to 10% of your ticket purchase will go to the JWF Musician Health & Services Program, the organizers and performers behind the 2nd Annual George Harrison Celebration hope you'll consider making an additional donation to help local musicians and their families through medical emergencies.
