As one of eleven recipients of Metro’s Community Placemaking grant this year, Montavilla’s Vestal Elementary expands their annual Social Justice Night, creating deeper impact and joyful programming. In partnership with Montavilla Jazz and PSU’s Artist as Citizen Initiative, this celebration of culture will highlight two of Vestal’s five pillars of social justice: community diversity and family identity.  With a focus on intergenerational storytelling, art, food, and music, this special evening unites one of Portland’s most culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse neighborhoods.
